IELTS or the Duolingo English Test?
IELTS or the Duolingo English Test?
Take IELTS when your shortlist demands it or when a visa stream requires it; take DET when your universities accept it and speed, cost and at-home convenience matter. Always verify acceptance first.
How our Hisar counselling desk helps you decide
The Duolingo English Test (DET) offers an agile, home-based testing alternative completed in one hour, ideal for rapid university admission cycles. However, IELTS remains the gold standard for student visa processing across Canada (SDS stream), the UK, and Australia. While over 4,000 global universities accept DET for academic offers, visa authorities frequently mandate formal IELTS or PTE test reports.
